MusiCorps staffer John Spurlock taught “The Science of Sound” to 8th graders at Lincoln Middle School back in April. Students were shown a demonstration of how sound waves are transduced between an electric guitar and an amplifier, as well as how various effects pedals alter sound qualities. At the end of the class, the students applied their prior knowledge of basic wave physics to complete experiments with plastic sound tubes.
